Summary
In this paper the concept for a next-generation high speed trainset will be presented
with special focus on the drive and power supply concept. The NGT Link train
concept is being developed within the "next generation train" (NGT) project at the
German Aerospace Center. The NGT Link is designed as a feeder train and should
be able to be used on partly electrified lines. Accordingly the propulsion and power
supply concept has to cope with these special requirements and has to ensure a safe
and reliable operation with a non-continuous energy supply.
