Abstract
The roof structure of Winter Hall at Prievidza, CSSR covers a square area 66x66 m and vas designed as a space grid of lentoid shape. Surfaces of the space grid were shaped as a two membrane areas in order to reduce bending moments on members. The structure solves successfully the problem of a great span, creates favourable aesthetic impressions and is very economic.
