Summary
This paper shows the reduction of mechanical vibrations during the transition between the border phase constituted by the ground and foundation of a small residential building. Generally amplitudes recorded on the ground are greater than those recorded on the building. Amplitude-frequency analysis revealed that for low-frequency oscillations (in the analyzed objects up to 12.5 Hz) one can observe an increase of the vibrations. Therefore, during determination of the dynamic loading caused by the trams traffic in the vicinity of a residential building the analysis should be in the frequency domain rather than in the time domain.
