Abstract
The paper deals with the minimum weight design of cold-formed hat-shaped steel sections in accordance with the AISI (1968) specifications. The results of the study are presented in the form of sectional dimensions and minimum weights. Results are compared in terms of different design considerations: different applied loadings, different span conditions, different span lengths and sections with or without intermediate stiffeners.
