Abstract
The use of micro-computers is now a rapidly developing area of Civil and Structural Engineering in the research units. So it is important to try to find new methods of computations related to the features of this new equipment. For instance we have to take notice of their small storage capacities compared to the capacities of the big computers.

The transfer matrix method is well fitted to the use of micro-computers in the design of plane frames. As a matter of fact, it requires only simple calculations based on 6x6 and 6x1 matrixes. So data storage is reduced - nodes and members features, loads. In addition, the displacements of any points and the internal forces in any sections of the structure are obtained at the same time and, so, the duration of the calculations is more or less the same as for those provided by other methods (more often, force or displacement methods).
