Abstract
The construction industry has witnessed a growing interest in the integration of design and construction. This is fuelled by the problems associated with the fragmented nature of the industry. This short paper presents a new process model for computer-integrated design and construction which overcomes many of these problems. The new model is based on a concurrent engineering framework and provides, amongst other things, a formal mechanism for the identification, analysis and prioritisation of clients' requirements.
