Summary
Pantograph-catenary coupling dynamics and pantograph aerodynamics are the main factors affecting the current collection quality of a pantograph-catenary system with the train running at high speed. In order to investigate the dynamic interaction relationships between the pantograph and the different heights of the catenaries, the pantograph aerodynamics was combined with the pantograph-catenary coupling dynamics to analyze the aerodynamic forces of the pantograph with different working height and the dynamic performance of the pantograph-catenary. The results show that while the current collection is conducted by the pantograph and while the catenary with different heights and the aerodynamic forces of the pantograph are not considered, there is little difference in the dynamic performance of the pantograph-catenary system. However, the aerodynamic uplift forces of the pantograph exhibit significant differences for different working heights, so the current collection quality of the pantograph-catenary is changed dramatically. Therefore, in order to enable the aerodynamic forces of the pantograph to meet the requirements of the current collection quality under different working heights, the optimization of the design of the pantograph aerodynamics and designing the matched air deflector and controller become particularly important.
