Abstract
The continuous space tensile framework strutted by members represents a tensegrity structural system characterized not only by abundant interesting forms and varieties, but also by extraordinary technical characteristics and performances. The geometry o f the system under consideration is defined in such a way that a rotating symmetrical cupola is formed, whose shape and rigidity are obtained by means of a two-layer network of prestressed cables, mutually strutted by straining pieces. The two-layer networks consist of meridian and radial spirally positioned cables. The geometry and the statical stability of the system are achieved by prestressing the forces in the cables.
