Abstract
The objective of this research is to study the application of the object oriented programming technique in the field of finite element analysis programming.

A computer module, called OFELEA, is implemented in C++. It is divided into two main chunks of code.

  1. 1 The matrix operations library
  2. 2 The finite element procedure

This paper includes the discussion of the finite element analysis module, while the matrix operations library is discussed in Zaher et al.

A group of classes is designed and implemented, to describe, in an object oriented manner, the finite element method. The object Oriented implementation offers readable, extendible, and reusable finite element code.

The paper includes a description of the classes designed to implement the finite element procedure.
