Abstract
This paper describes a new approach developed at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne for computer aided design of Wastewater Treatment Plants. It is an interactive programme, with the ability to integrate the main phases of design, namely process design, layout definition, hydraulic calculations, structural design, measurement and costing, allowing for the production of a solution, including preliminary design drawings and reports in about one hour, from a single computer run.
