Summary
This is the first year of a three-year study in scanning Taipei urban environments which are closely related to people's daily living experiences. The purpose of the research, reported in this paper, is to discover and to record the urban fabrics of the spaces during festivals under a temporary setting, in order to illustrate a new perspective of the "Digital City". The three-dimensional scans of buildings and temporary festival facilities are feasible for conducting measurements at BIM LOD 500. Scenes are also compared with and without the festival fixtures installed. As-built data are presented to a cloud and used as a collaboration platform.
