Summary
The paper discusses an use of anisotropy parameters for estimation of basic mechanical properties of masonry. The proposed approach uses a modified tensor scale measurement method. This method has been designed for use in medical sciences but it is currently used in a much more wide area of application. The method can be utilised for two-dimensional problems. This paper discusses its use for estimating initial mechanical parameters (for obtaining the values and orientation of the orthotropic homogenised material properties).
