Summary
The design and analyses of steel structures often includes investigation into the behaviour of structural details in places with stress concentration or in places where local loads are applied. This paper introduces a calculation method which is well-suited for certain types of structures. The method uses three-dimensional computational models and takes into account the physical non-linearities. The calculation and behaviour of the steel elements are proved by a series of original tests of the beams and their components. Numerical analysis is used to evaluate the possibility of using input material model parameters of steel. The software solutions are supported by other calculations which focus on the steel structures.
