Summary
A direct model coarsely describing warping, endowed with nonlinear constitutive
relations, yields field equations for open thin-walled beams. They are numerically
integrated using an in-house numerical code, providing non-trivial equilibria and examining
their stability. Warping effects on critical loads and natural frequencies for
generic cross-sections, affected by constitutive couplings (bending, torsion, warping)
are investigated. In addition some methods of validating experiments are described.
