Summary
In this paper, an algorithm addressing geometrical plus material non linear analysis of two-dimensional structural elements is developed. It employs corototaional formulation to address geometrical non linearity. Material non linearity is incorporated through numerical integration across the volume of the element. Thereafter unintentional material uncertainties are addressed in a probabilistic manner by using Monte Carlo simulations. The accuracy of the proposed algorithm is validated using examples from the literature. The probabilistic statistics for the ultimate load capacity are presented. Addressing structural nonlinearities making an allowance for the unavoidable uncertainties in a corototional probabilistic fashion used herein is the most innovative approach.
