Abstract

This Paper considers an integrated approach to the procedure for:

Preparing Bills of Quantities by the design engineer.
Preparing estimates by the design engineer.
Preparing tenders by the contractor.
Producing management control information for the contractor.
Measuring work completed and producing interim valuation certificates.

The example is based on proprietary software called Micro-RATE, and specifically the Civil Engineers Standard Method of Measurement Second Edition (CESMM2) which is widely used for Civil Engineering projects.
