Abstract
An efficient and comprehensive method for evaluating the seismic reliability of reinforced concrete degrading structures under earthquake actions is presented. The reliability analysis proposed is based on a realistic elastoplastic analysis accompanied by a damage-related limit state and a probabilistic approach of the final results. The correlation of sophisticated structural analysis with appropriate safety checking techniques applied at several levels is the main scope of the paper, enabling the designer to predict the seismic structural behavior reliably.
