Abstract
The detailing systems (such as Bocad-3D, Strucad or Xsteel in Europe) have become the governing components in the design technology of steel beam-column structures. The activity of analysis and standard design is a crucial point in a complex design but it is secondary inform the economical point of view. This is the reason why relatively few investigations has been carried out about the theoretical background of commercial programs used for analysis and standard design. As a consequence the productivity of this area has become much lower than that of CAD/CAM. The analysis and standard design need a new concept to close this area up to the modem CAD/CAM systems. This paper presents the final result of the research that has investigated the prototype program of ConSteel as an integrated analysis and standard design software for steel beam-column structures.
