Abstract
The focus of this paper is to present the issues of implementing extranet networks to construction project management. Such networks can effectively manage project information and securely communicate it among the parties involved in a project. Extranet applications can vary from a simple site for posting information to a sophisticated tool for interactively working out project flow. Extranet development issues include the database structure, the information management and retrieval process, the security of the system, and the ease of use. The early stage of a pilot extranet application is also presented in the paper.
