Abstract
This paper studies the collapse and large deflection response of semi-rigid steel frames under proportional and non-proportional loads. The hysteric loop behaviour of semi-rigid connections and plastic hinges are modelled in the analysis program through the incremental-iterative procedure. In the
numerical example illustrated in this paper, the effect load
sequence is significant in affecting the load-carrying capacity and the overall behaviour.
