Abstract
Repository concepts for the deep disposal of radioactive
waste imply that deposition tunnels and holes are excavated
at several hundred metres depth. A numerical study of the
resulting stress state at the intersection of the tunnels is
presented and the impact of discrete weaknesses predicted.
