Abstract
An efficient computational technique for dynamic reanalysis of structures is presented in this paper. This technique is developed first by performing a subspace condensation and an orthogonal decomposition procedures. A matrix singular value decomposition approach is then employed to find the higher order perturbation terms. The proposed computational technique is a kind of universal method, because it is universally applicable to structures with all three cases of frequencies: distinct, repeated and closely spaced frequencies. An illustrative example is presented to verify the validity and universality of the method.
