Abstract

This paper discusses parallel algorithms for genetic algorithms, simulated annealing and tabu search in the light of structural optimization, and presents some preliminary experimental results using three example structures. The algorithms are for shared-memory multiprocessors, and are implemented using the industry-standard POSIX threads.
