Abstract
This paper describes a parallel p-version FEM approach
for civil and structural engineering. After a brief introduction
to the p-version of the finite element method we
will consider a condensation technique for the interior degrees
of freedom which decreases the size of the global
equation system essentially. The implementation of the
parallel approach described in the third part is concentrated
on the more time consuming element based computation,
the solution of the global equation systems is
sequential. Finally, the efficiency of the implemented algorithm
is shown in two numerical examples.
