Abstract
The paper critically examines the influence of non-plastic fine
contents on the liquefaction behavior of sands. The studies
reported in the literature are reviewed. It appears that it is not
easy to clarify the influence of fines using parameters such as
relative density and void ratio currently used for sands. The
affects of fines beyond about 20% on liquefaction behavior of
sand are more complex than previously thought.
