Abstract
Braced domes are efficient and appealing and are employed frequently to cover large spans unobstructed of supports. Data generation of braced domes has always been a difficult task. The objective of this paper is to lay down the foundations of an algebra that is suitable for representation and processing of braced domes. The material is presented in terms of a number of examples with a view to explore the ideas and to examine their basic characteristics. It is demonstrated that the formex approach helps to turn the process of data generation of braced domes into a creative and a simple activity.
