Abstract
In this paper a micromechanical formulation is used in combination with augmented lagrangian technique for the analysis of thermomechanical contact problems. Axial, tangential and thermal stiffnesses are determined using nonlinear relationships based on statistical characterisation of contact microscophical asperities. Ill-conditioning is avoided using augmented lagrangian technique. This means that microscopical laws are not used to determine the target contact stiffness, but are used to force the target contact approach. Correct solutions are obtained by imposing contact forces as external ones, and convergence is achieved when the target approach is satisfied. Symmetrization of the contact contribution is also considered within the augmentation loop, and different strategies taking into account thermal coupling are compared.
