Abstract
In the field of Finite-Element-Methods initially a coarse mesh is used often as a discretization of a given object. During a simulation process, this mesh should be refined and the refinement depends on the calculated FEM solution. A lot of different refinement algortihms have been developed in the last couple of years. This paper provides an overview of the different refinement algorithms and their advantages.
