Abstract
In this paper, paying attention to the steps of making master plan and evaluating configurations and views for aesthetic design of dam structures, an attempt is made to develop a decision-making supporting system. The present system is based on genetic algorithm and computer graphics. Genetic algorithm is applicable to produce many design alternatives, whereas computer graphics is useful to prepare their view simulations. In order to evaluate the alternatives, AHP method is used to reflect the preference of designers. A numerical example of colouring of a dam structure is presented to demonstrate the applicability of the system developed here.
