Summary

This paper presents display media technology to apply for a tourism train in natural and historical areas. In order to enhance the operating benefits of a tourism railway, we considered the strategy and business models which could be applied for using one of the newest entertainment technologies; the media display technology. For this application we simulated the applicability of the technology, and the technical feasibility of operating revenue for a steam locomotive tourist train in Korea. We expect that this approach will make a new railway business model, raising regional culture and the tourism industry, satisfying various requirements for future passenger travel.
