Summary
A vibration measurement system of railway bearings for obtaining and processing vibration signals of bearings during manufacturing was developed, which comprised of the hardware with the software as well as the data processing and analysing unit system. The significance of vibration measurement and its relation to quality control for reliability of railway bearings was analysed for this measurement system development. Subsequently, two measurement standards, one for Anderon vibration velocity measurement and the other for peak value count, were obtained by carrying out an initial measurement of 20 double row tapered roller bearings for freight wagons as one statistical group with a normal manufacturing quality during manufacturing process. Additionally, the vibration measurement system as a tool of the statistical process control (SPC) was employed to assess the manufacturing quality of railway bearings in manufacturing. The vibration measurement system for testing bearing working performance was applied to extract the manufacturing quality of bearings. It was obviously found that the system could effectively carry on the measurement of vibration performance of railway bearings in manufacturing according to the vibration velocity standard. It was also seen that the vibration measurement system was not only able to study vibration performance of railway bearings, but also to improve product quality and reliability of railway bearings through the vibration measurement technology in bearing manufacturing industry.
