Abstract
The need for portable, battery, powered computers in the field together with custom software for surveyors is increasingly evident these days. The Co-ordinated Pipelines Geometry (CPGS) System can be seen as a start in the direction of data processing for setting out of both horizontal and vertical alignment. Its use is primarily applicable to pipelines but may also be used on highways and other construction projects.
