Abstract
The requirements of certain codes of practice, such as CP.110 and BS.5628, can be incorporated into simple programs which aid the designer in the search for a satisfactory solution. Details are given, in this paper, of a program based on BS.5628 Part 1 for the design of multi-storey masonry structures. The program was written in BASIC and is used interactively on a micro-computer.
