Abstract
New interactive automatic mesh generator is proposed for a microcomputer. The method originally belonging to Blocking Method generates the topological properties independent from other geometrical and physical properties which are required for the finite element analysis. It includes an effective mesh generator for transient areas with quadrilateral and triangular configurations, and it can largely increase the flexibility of the application of the method to an area with complex configuration and, at the same time, it can decrease the amount of input-data required for mesh generation. By taking into considerations of the characteristics and properties of a microcomputer ( e.g. low speed computation and sufficient graphics functions) proposed method is coded by BASIC. At present the method is valid only for 2-dimensional cases.
