Abstract
In almost situations when designing machines, the engineer is very often faced to design transmission of movement as accurate as possible. For that purpose, it is necessary to predict which will be the various relative positions of the components of the mechanism undergoing loading. A new method for the prediction of these positions is presented here, which takes into account the forces applied to the various parts and the clearance in the linkages. The 3-D kinematic modeling is based on the small displacements allowed by each joint which takes place in the kinematic chain of the mechanism. The method presented here, minimizes the potential energy by means of some algorithms of optimization. The application to some 3-D examples, leads to results which can be used in C.A.D. softwares as optimum design tools.
