Abstract
The optimal design of a composite canard wing is approached in this paper by Evolution Strategies. Objective of the design is weight minimization, under various types of constraints on the mechanical behavior of the structure. Discrete design variables are the number of stacked laminate plies. The obtained results satisfy all the applied constraints, giving design solutions to be used in the practice.
