Abstract
Advances in computer hardware have reached the stage where even entry level PC's have very powerful graphics capabilities. The storage of large numbers of images and video is possible using data compression techniques and commonly available CD's. Many numerical analysis packages now offer graphical user interfaces, but the real potential of the graphics capability of multimedia PC's has yet to be exploited. Multimedia offers a very flexible and powerful resource for teaching purposes. A multimedia application currently under development is to provide a bridge aesthetics teaching resource for engineers.
