Abstract
This paper deals with error estimation and h-adaptive eigenfrequency analysis of Reissner-Mindlin plates. A termination criterion, two possible error indicators and a mesh refinement strategy for an h-adaptive eigenfrequancy analysis without user tuned coefficients is presented. Superconvergent Patch Recovery of the displacement field is used for the error estimator in the termination criterion and to construct the error indicators. Numerical examples demonstrate the performance of the error estimator and the h-adaptive strategy. We also show the complexity of the problem by a numerical example.
