Abstract
Some highlights of a recently developed finite element program capable of simulating the impact of a fast moving flexible or rigid object on a deforming substrate are briefly discussed. A finite element model specially tailored for this application and a parallel explicit solver using domain decomposition and message passing technologies were developed. A typical numerical example is presented.
