Abstract
An actual procedure into the nonlinear behaviour of structural systems without applying a nonlinear analysis is presented in order to achieve an easy and proper method which is called the "Ductility Factor Method" and it is used in most of the structural codes. Many researches has been already done on the ductility factor of different systems. In this paper, the ductility factor of structures is considered by the nonlinear structural response. The presentation of the method of ductility as a criterion for justifying the behaviour in the nonlinear structural range and also as a factor for reducing the design loads of linear analysis is the main discussion of the recent researches. In this context, the obtained ductility for each system, the factors which influence the amount of this coefficient and the ways of its distribution on structures are also considered.
