Abstract
The aim of this work is to investigate the accuracy of certain regularizing factors in various BEM formulations with approximating the boundary densities by using various kinds of boundary elements satisfying the sufficient continuity conditions. It is shown that C1-continuous elements could be sufficient if an appropriate BEM formulation is employed. The modified Overhauser elements are developed in order to remove certain shortcoming of the standard Overhauser elements.
