Abstract
This paper presents a method for the determination of modal participation factors for any general dynamic problem. The method is illustrated by presenting the results of analyses performed on suspension bridge structures subjected to aerodynamic loading. The results were obtained using the finite element program ANSUSP. Finally, the paper presents and discusses the significance of the results obtained to date.
