Abstract
This paper presents the results of a finite element analysis of push-out test specimens with perfobond rib and headed stud connectors. An ANSYS based numerical modeling approach has been developed. The numerical model can be used to predict reasonably well the ultimate capacity of a push-out specimen with perfobond rib shear connectors. With some additional refinements, preferably using a commercial version of ANSYS, the numerical model is expected to yield consistently reliable results. Further investigation would be necessary to obtain acceptable level of accuracy for push-out specimens with headed studs.
